It was a day to remember at Butterfly Beach. Pure water, clean swell, and not a soul in sight. I got in and soaked in the first light of day. With the rising tide, it felt like the elements were coming together to form something special. Relaxed & focused in the shorebreak, I noticed a thick wall of water headed for the break point. The tide left just the right amount of ocean on the beach for this thing to topple over itself in a way I have never seen before. It pitched up, then out, then over as I laid deep in the barrel with my camera. After the wave, I simply floated on my back and drank in the moment. I knew that was just never going to happen again. It wasn’t until I got home and went through pictures that I realized I had captured the essence of “The Glass Cabana”

As the morning light brightened up the day, I swam in a uniquely beautiful swell. The pulses were delicate, yet energized. I felt a certain sense of hope and clarity arise from within, directing me to swim a little further down the beach. The smooth and bumpy sandbars created a certain playfulness within the waves that I was joyful to witness and challenged the capture. I sat and studied for a few minutes hoping to pick up on a pattern. I could foresee something beautiful coming but didn’t know what. As I got my camera into position, the energy sprung up from the water as I quickly fired a frame of “The Rise of the Angelic Glass”.

I had a unique feeling in my gut the second I woke up. As if I was being called to this spot. I didn’t question the feeling, I simply went with it. I arrived, the feeling magnified by the excitment that comes with jumping in the ocean. So I did, wondering what was in the air… There’s only a few minutes of the day where you’re fortune enough to see the sun’s glow like this. As the morning light glistened through the atmosphere, the powers that be architected “The Arch of Luck”
